K-W United FC is delighted to announce the appointment of new head coach Chris Pozniak.
He is the third coach in the clubs history, following in the footsteps of Brett Mosen and Stuart Neely.
Pozniak is a USSF National A Licensed coach, and carries with him a wealth of experience having played for country and clubs abroad. Most recently, he has worked with Power FC in Toronto as a youth coach and as the head coach of the U16 team for the 2013 season.
After United's disappointing conference semifinals loss a year ago, Pozniak will try and engineer a title contender for the upcoming season.
The former Canadian international played professionally for 13 years including stints in Norway and Sweden.
Pozniak was capped by Canada at the U20, U23, and senior level. He totaled 24 caps for the senior team, playing in the 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup and three World Cup qualification matches.
The Krakow, Poland native began his career with Toronto Lynx at the age of 18.
In November of 2006, Pozniak was announced as one of the players to help Toronto FC debut in Major League Soccer. He played for the club in their inaugural 2007 season before being picked up by the San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS Expansion Draft.
Among his professional achievements are stints with Chivas USA and Vancouver Whitecaps. The defender has also had spells with Scottish club Dundee and Norwegian club FK Haugesund before moving into retirement.
Pozniaks longing to move into coaching along with his experience in the professional game will be vital for the growth of the club.
United would like to wish a warm welcome to the new head coach.
